Oh I am so sorry to hear that, Rich, yes, I have been using Manycam, and it seems like we can stick with the previous version, although we won't receive any more updates since the company was taken over. I am totally with you on that one; hopefully, you can avail of the 2-year free trial and not pay by sticking to the older version.

im another disgruntles customer having paid for a lifetime licence which as it turns out is no longer lifetime as they have gone back on thier word! Have to pay for version 8, well they wont get any more of my money!

In reply to Charles. Hi Charles, thank you for the comment. This doesn't seem right. I also have the lifetime version and I depend on Manycam for my online classes. I will actually contact them about this and see if I can get a direct response on the issue.

Great blog! But one important thing has been left out that should be included. Buyers beware. It seems that with this new update to Manycam (ver. 8.0.0.107) the makers of Manycam have let dollars outweigh ethics. I purchased a Lifetime studio subscription a couple of years ago, which the new update will not recognize. I purchased the lifetime subscription simply because I don’t like paying for something again and again. The message I receive says that my subscription is not valid for versions 8 and above. Hmmm, doesn’t lifetime mean LIFETIME? It seems that greed has overtaken integrity. Oh, and don’t try sending a message to tech support or the sales department on the Manycam website. You can enter your information and complaint, but conveniently, the send button is disabled.
