SayABC caters the international learning experience to Chinese children from 5-12 years old. The company is supported by top investors from China and the United States. It is a unique and dynamic online teaching company aspiring to bring the best ESL learning experience to young Chinese learners. Their headquarters are based in Beijing, East District, China.

Requirements:
To yield the best learning experience, SayABC requires the following from tutors:
- All teachers are required to have a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of one-year teaching experience is preferred and teaching certification is required.
- Exceptional English and communication skills
- Non-native teachers are also considered
- Speakers with US accent are preferred but a neutral accent is also considered
- Equipped with a laptop or a computer
- Headset with microphone
Technical Requirements:
- Fast and stable internet connection: 20Mbps download, 4Mbps upload
- Must have wired internet connection

Pros of SayABC
The majority of online teachers recommend SayABC because of good pay and plenty of incentives and bonuses. The lessons are well prepared, and the students are great. You will develop good relationships with students as you will teach the same group of students for a few weeks in a row.
Cons of Sayabc
A common issue that tutors encounter is the occasional lack of bookings. Sometimes homeroom classes are cancelled. Teachers have had problems communicating with staff too. They think staff are slow to respond to their queries and there is a language barrier.
Teachers have found that the company are more responsive via email rather than Skype messaging. The company will do their best to accommodate you, such as increasing your number of classes.
Salary – How much Does SayABC Pay?
- $13 base pay rate
- $4 bonus for attendance and productivity
- Additional $7 per class booked less than 24 hours in advance
- $8 bonus for student signups Payment on the 15th every month
- Teachers may be eligible for a raise at the point of contract renewal
The minimum base pay rate per hour is $13 and there is a $4 bonus available per class based on attendance and productivity. The company also gives different types of incentives. Teachers asked to cover classes with less than 24 hour notice will receive an additional $7 pay. Additionally, converting students to sign up will earn an $8 bonus. Teachers will receive their teaching record details every 5th day of the following month. Payments are issued on the 15th day of each month. It may take up to 5 days for the payment transfer to go through.

- Arrange a live interview or self-recorded interview
- Evaluation class with students
- Sign the contract

Set up your account and submit your application. They will ask you to download the teacher portal. Here you will schedule a live interview or a self-recording of your application. This interview will last 30 minutes, which includes a 15-minute demo class. The interviewer will act like a real student as you teach the class.
After you pass the interview and get feedback from your interviewer, you will conduct a mock lesson with real students. You will teach a full 40-minute class on the platform with up to 4 students. You will be able to preview and prepare for the class 48 hours in advance. This is a paid class. As soon as you pass the evaluation, they will ask you to sign an online contract and some documentation. The contract minimum is 3 months. Only then you can begin teaching.
Please Note!
TPR (Total Physical Response) is body language applied to online ESL classes. The teacher uses TPR to explain English concepts or instruct the ESL learner. It is necessary to incorporate TPR to help young learners understand the lesson.
Lessons and Scheduling:
SayABC have two types of classes: a regular class and a fixed class. You must commit to 5 weeks of fixed schedule or a trial class with no scheduled commitment.
Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 5:40pm to 8:50pm BJT
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:50am to 11:20am, 5:40pm to 8:50pm BJT

Class hours are between 6-9 pm for weekdays and 9 am-9 pm for weekends (BJT). The class size for each scheduled group lesson is 1-4 students aging from 5-12 years old. Class length is 40 minutes with a 10-minute break between classes. Teachers will conduct their lessons via the SayABC platform following the given courseware.
You can take time off by applying two weeks in advance. If you are sick, you must notify the company as soon as possible. Another teacher will act as a substitute.
Taxes:
Teachers are responsible for their own taxes as independent contractors.
