What Happens When You Reach The Diamond League on Duolingo?
Once you reach the Diamond League, there are three tournaments to complete. The top 10 are considered winners in the final tournament, and the leaderboards don’t go any further.
Please take note that tournaments are not held every week. To determine if a tournament is commencing, check for the message “Top 10 qualify for the Tournament” at the top of your leaderboard. If you come across the message “The next Tournament is starting soon,” it means that there are no eligible tournaments to participate in for that particular week.

Getting To The Next Level
There are three weekly stages to the Diamond Tournament if you make it that far:
- Quarter-finals
- Semi-finals
- Finals
The players with the lowest accumulated XP weekly are demoted back to the Diamond League. Those who have accumulated the most XP go on to the next level.
The Duolingo Tournament Finals are the showdown between the top two-week XP earners, ultimately determining who will be declared the Diamond Tournament champion.

If you have the determination and willpower to win the third Diamond League tournament, you receive a rare achievement, and your tournament resets you back to bronze.
A word of warning – all of the Diamond League competitors are very engaged, often earning thousands of points to stay in Diamond and climb to the ultimate level.
